Spent a couple of days with a friend in Gdansk. Highlights were the wonderfully renovated old town, a Polish Milk Bar, antiques market, paddling on the river to get a view of the buildings from the water, especially the Gdańsk Crane from below. A visit to the Solidarity Museum is well worth it. And, we also managed to see a Jazz concert. Not to forget the beach at Jantorawa and church at Oliwa.
We walked in the town centre and had food at Milk Bar “Neptun” (a Polish bar mleczny) near the Neptune fountain (54.34861N/18.65238E)

The weather was promising to be good and we decided to see some of the centre of town from the water and rented a kayak.

It was raining so we decided it was a good day to spend in a museum.

While in the museum we tried to find a Jazz concert to visit which turned out not to as easy as we thought. But we eventually found one.
at Teatr Leśny | Gdańskie Noce Jazsowe: Tadeusz Cieślak - Sonostoria i Kaszana Quartet, (originally it was supposed to take place in the middle of the woods at Teatr Leśny, Jaśkowa Dolina 45, 80-286 Gdańsk 54.37198/18.59711, but was moved to a new location due to the pouring rain. After a few trams and busses we eventually found the new venue at Teatr Plama GAK in the midst of tower blocks)

They create jazz music based on thematic motifs, open forms, and beautiful harmonies that describe the personal experiences of the band members.
